To provide funding for:
-personal continuing education to upgrade skills and knowledge in areas related to Home Economics/Human Ecology. (Foods/Nutrition, Clothing/Textiles, Child Development, Family Studies, Housing, Consumer Education)
-attendance at conferences or workshops providing continuing education related to Home Edonomics/Human Ecology.
-for Home Economists to pursue advanced degrees in Home Economics/Human Ecology.
-university or online courses related to Home Economics/Human Ecology.
-purchase of tesxtbooks or resources related to the course.
Annual maximum of $10,000 with up to $5,000 per applicant. Multiple grants may be awarded for a total of $10,000 each fiscal year (May 1 - April 30).
Ongoing basis. Applications will be reviewed as received by the CHEF executive.
Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
A person with a Home Economics degree who wishes to upgrade credentials and personal knowledge.
A person who does not have a Home Economics degree and is working/teaching in a Home Economics field and wishes to gain knowledge in an area of Home Economics/Human Ecology.
A student who is currently enrolled in or accepted in a University Home Economics/Human Ecology program.
Successful applicants are eligible to apply for further funding in the following year.
The education activity must support the professional development of the applicant to enhance their knowledge and skills for their current employment or future work.
At the conclusion of the learning experience, the applicant will submit a letter to CHEF outlining how the award helped you in advancing your learning or meeting your goals and other experiences you may wish to share.
