Grants and Awards

Emmie (Ducie) Oddie, C.M., S.O.M., is regarded as a prairie icon because of her years of service to the rural community. For nearly five decades she used her Home Economics training to answer questions from readers of her column in the Western Producer.

The Emmie Oddie Recognition Fund was established in an attempt to continue her lifelong work of informing others. Grants from the fund maintain a website containing current home economics information of interest to consumers on the prairies. The find is administered by the Canadian Home Economics Foundation and the website is managed by a committee of the Association of Saskatchewan Home Economists members.
